Emily Hill
Emily Hill (5 September 1847 – 27 August 1930) was a New Zealand teacher, temperance worker and suffragist. She was born on 5 September 1847 as Emily Knowles. She immigrated to Christchurch in 1873 with her husband Henry Hill, who had proposed to her less than a month before their departure for New Zealand. Between 1875 and 1878, he was headmaster at Christchurch East School and she was in charge of the infants' department.〔 They moved to Napier, where she became prominent in women's suffrage.〔 ==References==
